We have a Late Start Option with classes starting at the end of March for students waiting for Matric results.

The course covers all aspects of sound engineering, from studio recording to live mixes. It is a theoretical and practical course incorporating a range of topics that can be applied to all areas of sound engineering including live sound and studio recording.

Through the introduction to DJ learners will obtain the knowledge of the history and the development of DJ techniques. Learners will learn the functional detail of DJ equipment from the sound reinforcement system and DJ mixes to turntable. They will also learn the DJ techniques from the beat matching and beat jaggling to slip cuing, needle dropping and back spinning.

This subject aims to impress upon the students the critical importance of effective communication in business. Students will be expected to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge and practical application of communication techniques in the relevant business situations.

Audio Visual Communication
We will show you how to make the most effective use of a camera. Tripods, glide cams, hand held and specialised equipment. Using microphones. Production of editing in camera. Colour temperature and camera set up and basic lighting. Covers all aspects of production, pre-production planning up to post production, budget, media brief, scriptwriting, story boards, props, camera types and formats, camera shots and movement, sound production in the field, lighting, directorship, linear /A/B Roll and non-linear editing, sound layering, sound and video mixing, final mix.

MS PowerPoint (Presentations)
How to make presentations with confidence and power.

Health, Safety and First Aid
The students will learn why, when and how to use good sterilisation safely and sanitation practices.

Information Processing Speed
Achieve much higher speed of data entry by mastering touch typing.

Computer Skills
Keyboard familiarisation, figures, columns, centring, paragraph layout, manuscript, letters, envelopes and copy typing.
